Set of twenty-eight, 21 1/2 x 24 1/2” each

A set of objects were arranged according to the color positions in nine paintings by Piet Mondrian. In reference to John Cage's chance operations, the resulting nine photographs were arranged randomly on a grid of twenty-eight different configurations. When seen from a distance, the photograph’s vibrant colors suggest the urban grid evoking Mondrian’s mapping of NY in Broadway Boogie Woogie. This minimalist series pays homage to his life-long commitment to process by exploring multiple variations on a single theme. In the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum  of Art (LACMA).
